Project Description: A remarkable site-a craggy New England mini peninsula with sand spits and rock outcroppings in tidal waters framing Long Island Sound views of New York City and sunsets. However, the building envelope was so impossibly tight that three isolated non-conforming scraps of an existing ranch house had to be preserved and woven into the new structure. The result is a “fat”, free-flowing plan with an entry façade recalling to the Shingle-Style, and waterfront glass walls arching through the expansion of the view.
