A true candidate for a real extreme make over, this water front week-end retreat replaces an old contemporary structure that did not take full advantage of the fantastic views of the Long Island Sound. The new house follows a classic New England shingle style typical for the Northeast coastal communities. Essentially built on top of the existing foundation the house has the entire back opened to the views, while transparency and light are governing the design. All interior cabinetry were custom built with an emphasis on low formality and good taste. The observation tower is a loft in one of the second floor common rooms and has been outfitted with built-in sleeping cots for lazy summer afternoons.
