This elegant 1929 brick Regency house, commanding Long Island Sound views from Darien's Delafield Island deserved a respectful renovation and addition to accommodate the modern lifestyle of its owners.  The challenge included weaving expansive glass walls into the traditional brick wall aesthetic language established by the existing structure.   The space flows from the existing formality of the living, entry hall and dining spaces to the similarly detailed, but informally arranged Mud Room, high-tech Kitchen and the tower shaped family dining space.  The Master Bathroom and Dressing Area above is a special expression of the circular movement.  Classic details were recreated and overlapped with whimsical modern fixtures and furnishings. The project also included the renovation of all existing bedrooms and bathrooms as well as adding a playroom and professional darkroom in the basement.
